“How Difficult Can This Be?”
Featuring the F.A.T. City Video followed by a live discussion around
understanding our children’s learning challenges.
Richard Lavoie’s F.A.T. City Workshop video is a unique
program that allows viewers to experience the same frustration,
anxiety and tension that children with learning disabilities face
in their daily lives.
After the video, attendees will have the opportunity to address
their concerns and ask questions with an expert in the area of
learning differences.
Discussion Facilitator: Judy Doktor, Ph.D.
Professor Doktor has over 45 years of experience as an educator, policy
maker and advocate for persons with disabilities. Her expertise include
special education policy and law, diagnostic criteria for learning differences,
modified curricula development, and program evaluation. Dr. Doktor
received her Ph.D. from Vanderbilt University, where she majored in
Policy Development and Program Evaluation. She received a 2-year
postdoctoral fellowship in Special Education at the University of Kansas.
Currently, she is an associate professor at Notre Dame de Namur
University and Program Director of the Department of Special
Education. Dr. Doktor is also a Prentice alumnus grandparent.
