Oral and maxillofacial surgery subject. Its objectives, history of in the world and in Ukraine. Equipment and instruments, documents in ambulance and MFS Department, acquaintance with the structure
of the maxillofacial surgery clinic.
Methods of examination of the oral cavity, maxillofacial area (MFA) and neck. Department’s history
and achievements.
Determination of pain; reactions of the organism to pain, operative trauma. Anaesthesia in oral surgery.
Teeth removal, indications and contraindications. Patient’s preparation and operation instruments.
Complications during and after tooth removal, their prevention and treatment.
Local anesthesia. Sedation. General anesthesia.
Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
Local anesthetics agents, characteristics, complications. Local anesthesia instruments.
Topical, infiltrative anesthesia. Complications, their prevention and treatment. Teeth removal with
application, infiltration.
Extraoral mandibular anesthesia: indications, complications and their treatment.
Removal of mandibular teeth.
Intraoral mandibular anesthesia: indications, complications and their treatment.
Removal of mandibular teeth.
Infraorbital and nasopalatine nerve block: indications, complications and their treatment. Maxilla
teeth extraction.
Tuberal and palatal nerve block. Indications, possible complications and their treatment.
Maxilla teeth extraction.
Central anesthesia of the second and the third branches of trigeminal nerve near the base of the skull.
Complications during and after teeth extraction, there treatment and prevention.
Maleruption. Impacted and semi-impacted teeth. Pericoronitis: clinic, diagnostics, treatment, complications.
Periodontitis: classification, clinical features, prevention, surgical management. Face odontogenous
granuloma: clinical features, treatment.
Odontogenous periostitis of the jaws.
Acute and chronic odontogenous osteomyelitis of the jaws: etiology, pathogenesis, clinical presentation, treatment, complication, prophylaxis.
Specific inflammatory processes of MFA (actinomycosis, tuberculosis, lues, AIDS): etiology, classification, clinical motion, diagnostics, treatment.
