Should we lower taxes?
So, why are we paying taxes? Taxes are everywhere, hidden in plain sight, in a daily
life. Some people find it annoying, while other’s find it challenging, especially for those
young adults with minimum wage job at McDonald’s or the elderly who has difficulties with
calculating. It really is a great hassle, but only a few know why are we actually paying taxes
for, the nation’s development, and I think it’s very necessary for a fast-developing country to
have high tax rate.
Like a saying “countries survive from citizen’s taxes “, they are very essential in a
country’s development. Every public hospital, schools, playgrounds and even roads and city
light are all build from citizen’s fund. Take example from Singapore, the world’s only island
country, Once used to be poor and afraid, Now become renowned as one of the Asian Tigers,
all due from citizen’s support and hard work to the country. A country with people’s support
is like a team without any members, and it surely will succumb into failure.
Why should we pay taxes? Taxes are often seen unjust, forcing poor individual into
immense pressure and despair, sometime even riot broke due to this. But this is the very
reason we, as a responsible citizen, should pay more taxes. Taxes work like a stream, people
with higher income have to pay significantly more fund than the lower. We think taxes take
away money from the poor for the rich’s sake, but in reality, it works in reverse. Taxes
actually try provide them with necessary shelter, and a safe country to live in. Paying taxes
will benefits everyone, and ultimately have high POSITIVE impact on the poor.
In conclusion, taxes bring benefits to everyone, maybe not in a direct way, but it
definitely will. Taxes are the only reason why our beloved country is still thriving , and that is
why we must pay taxes.
