The name Puerto Princesa comes from the Spanish era
of the Philippines. Its name during the time was port
Asuncion (Porta de Asunción) after Spanish princess
Asuncion. After the Princess death the place was
renamed Puerto de la Princesa and later was shortened
to Puerto Princesa

Manila to Siargao: by direct flight
(2 hours), ferry (31h 30m - 33h 30m),
indirect flight via Cebu (4.5 hours)
and indirect flight via Butuan (5h
25m - 6h 25m).
The journey takes between 2h - 33h
30m, and the quickest way is by
direct flight.
